Steel In Motion

Versatile, colorful and unrelenting in bringing you the sounds of the Caribbean.  From their hometown in Georgetown, Guyana, South America these talented musicians developed their specialized skills on the steel drums while performing with groups such as Chronicle Atlantic Symphony and Soundwaves steel drum bands.  They then brought their specialized art form to New York and California where they continued to perform with such groups as Moods, Silhouettes, Steel & Ivory, the Caribbean All-Stars, the great Carlos Santana and many more.  In an effort to present a truly exciting experience in tropical island music, Brian, Lloyd and Rooseveldt Solomon brought decades of musical talent and experience to their new hometown, Jacksonville, Florida.  This talented group can be found performing with their integrated steel drums band, Steel In Motion, at events throughout the Jacksonville area which includes notable places such as The World Golf Village, The Marriott at Sawgrass, Sawgrass Country Club, Metropolitan Park and the Jacksonville Zoo and Garden.  They can also be found entertaining guests at other venues such as “The Cloister Resort,” Sea Island, Georgia; “The Ritz Carlton,” Fernandina Beach; “Amelia Island Plantation,” Amelia Island and Daytona Beach.

Our brother and good friend Brian passed away in 2008, but Lloyd and rooseveldt along with little brother Mortimer and friend and percussionist Luis Colon Jr. continue to entertain audiences at top resorts, major festivals and special events including performing at the Jacksonville Jaguars home games and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

Steel In Motion’s CD, Tropical Storm, is available for your listening pleasure.
